We invest in durable businesses with attractive growth opportunities, strong employee engagement and eager leadership looking to accelerate growth. Current profitability is not a requirement, however we look for businesses that can demonstrate efficient unit economics during our investment period.

Rob Young is a Managing Partner of Elk View Capital. Prior to founding Elk View, Rob led the Technology investing vertical at OpenGate Capital. Before OpenGate, he spent over a decade as an investment professional at Marlin Equity Partners, gaining broad experience across their lower middle market strategies. Rob earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Outside the office, Rob is an avid snowboarder, golfer and father.
Damian Blazy

Damian Blazy is a Managing Partner of Elk View Capital. Prior to Elk View, Damian served as Principal of Portfolio Operations at OpenGate Capital and CEO of Mersive Technologies. Earlier in his career, Damian was a Vice President of Portfolio Operations at Kelso & Company and a Principal at Oliver Wyman. Before entering the business world, he spent over 8 years as an Officer in the US Navy. He holds an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland. Away from the office, Damian enjoys training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the outdoors.
Tom Gioia

Tom Gioia is a Managing Partner of Elk View Capital. Tom has built his network and skill set through roles with leading private equity firms alongside multiple C-suite positions, having served as both a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Unlike most private equity investors, Tom has firsthand experience running businesses, managing operations, and building teams — giving him an intimate understanding of the challenges management teams face. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Beyond his professional commitments, Tom is a football enthusiast and remains actively involved in his family’s athletic pursuits.
